This Staff Handbook represents an effort to consolidate into one source of reference the policies and benefits affecting all University employees.  Intended as a convenient guide, the Handbook does not contain every policy and contains only excerpts from others.   Employees are urged to obtain additional information from the actual policies, when appropriate.  These include the following:

• General Catalog – detailed information about the University’s structure and its academic policies and programs.
• Bylaws and Regulations of the Board of Supervisors – comprehensive rules and policies that pertain to the entire LSU System.
• Policy Memoranda (PMs) - issued by the President of the LSU System.
• Business Office Procedures (BOPs) - issued by the Office of Financial Services governing the proper conduct of University business activities.
• Administrative Procedures (APs) - issued by the Office of the Chancellor.
• Departmental Rules and Procedures-policies, work rules, and procedures issued by individual departments.

Because the University is the initiator of change and is subject to various external legal, regulatory and other forces requiring change, the information contained in this Handbook can -and undoubtedly will - change to meet new conditions.

The information contained in this Handbook does not create any contractual rights for University employees.
